Most shootings occur between people who know eachother.  That would include family.  The solution, then, is to make sure ones family is heavily armed.  Make sure your wife can protect herself against you.  Make sure your children can protect themselves against you, your wife, and eachother.  And make doubly sure you can protect yourself against all of them.  

When there is the constant threat of death, then everybody will get along just fine.  Right?
